I went to last night’s screening of “The Debaters” and although enjoyable, I missed your postflick Q&A.

I’ve been attending your screening for some time now, and always enjoy your interviews, thanks!

After all this time I do have a few observations…

I’m sure there are good reasons for it but your rsvp procedures are just to cumbersome! A opt-in process is understandable, but you guys have at least one step too many. Our lives are complicated enough, let’s simplify when possible!

On your confirmation emails would it be possible to have the subject line contain all pertinent info first, like : “RSVP Confirmation for “Movie Name” Jan 01, 7:30 pm - Harmony Gold” That way there’s no need to open the email to get all the info unless more specific details are needed, which they usually aren’t.

Finally, and I’m hesitant to include this, could you please consider a personal suggestion? You do a great job of getting and interviewing some amazing guests, and you do a great job of respecting the film, the guests and the audience. I understand that there’s a bit of rebel in all of us, I understand that the stereotypical image of the writer is a recluse who hides away in a cave, I understand that as a community we have an image to maintain, but could you please consider adding a touch more respect all around by dressing up for the occasion?
The old t-shirt and unkempt hair garb is really getting old. You’re a father now, you’re the public face of an important organization, your guests are being gracious in showing up to your “home” to visit, ditto the audience, would it kill you to spend a few moments on personal grooming and wardrobe? A tux isn’t required, although I bet you look pretty sharp in one, but you know you can freshen up your college kid look without too much effort.

And everyone knows:

“Clean shirt, new shoes
And I dont know where I am goin to.
Silk suit, black tie,
I dont need a reason why.
They come runnin just as fast as they can
Coz every girl crazy bout a sharp dressed man”

Thanks again for all you do.

-A big fan.
