Thought all the band parents might like to know what the real truth is about the trip. Read on…
I am appalled by the what Michelle had to say and the finger pointing she did. Folks, there is no one to blame but HER. Apparently Michelle you have forgotten that there was several of us at a band parent meeting earlier this year where we were discussing the band trip. At that time we were talking about going to New York or Tennessee. You were the one who chimed in and suggested the cruise after the rest of us agreed that we could not afford to go to New York. You also were the one that offered to put everything together. No one twisted your arm. Several of us were standing around talking after the meeting and If I remember correctly, Mr. Gillet gave you some sort of large envelope that evening to help you plan the trip (another of your feeble attempts to lay blame else where). Oh and let us not forget, this was not at the beginning of the school year as you tried to pass off. It was a couple of months into school. As for no fund raising being done for the trip, well that one lies on your shoulders too. You were given the tools and plenty of time to gather all the information and should have stepped aside way before now if you knew you didn’t have time to do it. If you had done your part and followed through in a timely manner, all of the band and chorus kids would not being made to pay for you being vindictive and just plain mean. Nice try trying to make it look like anyones fault but your own. Sorry I don’t buy it and I sure hope no one else will now either.
Perhaps if you had spent as much time on the band trip that you did on bashing Mr. Gillet and Patti at every chance you got (remember how you would try to get everyone on your side with your complaints, rantings and ravings at the football games, competitions or any where we were, hate to disappoint you, we had to listen because you pinned us down but most didn’t buy it and couldn’t wait til the game was over so we could get away from you) we would have a band trip, the fund raising in place for it and none of these issues. I distinctly remember at a competition being warned by a group of parents from the school that your daughter used to attend to be very wary of you and the things you like to pull. Apparently this is not the first time something like this has happened.
Not only is an apology owed to Mr. Gillet, Ms. VanMeter and Patti, but to the rest of the parents you tried to hood wink into believing that you did your best and to what’s most important, all of the band and chorus kids that you decided to disappoint. I will be keeping up with this and if an official apology is not made to everyone I plan on taking it further. This could become even more embarassing for you than it already is. So step up to the plate and be honest. This mess rests solely on you and the egg is on your face!
